We took the special Itaipu tour and it was incredible. All the guides were friendly and gave accurate information, both on the outside and technical information inside. Without a doubt, the most beautiful part is the exterior, which yielded the best photos, but being able to see how a hydroelectric plant works from the inside is a unique experience. I was still lucky enough to be able to see the open spillway. It looks like it hasn't been open in 7 years. I recommend it to everyone.

Despite being less known than the Falls, the visit to Itaipu is just as fascinating. I suggest taking the "Itaipu Special" pass (which can be booked in advance), which allows entry into the plant's facilities while it is in operation. Truly impressive, due to its grandeur, both from the natural aspect and from the engineering aspect. We met in the morning, which seemed to me to be the best option (milder and less populated climate).

The tour is well organized with buses that take you to the viewpoints to see the Plant and with explanations throughout the route. We were lucky enough to see the floodgates open, it was beautiful, it was so worth it!!

A panoramic visit is great for getting to know the plant. We were lucky that the spillway was open, but even with it closed, it is incredible to see the plant's gigantic installations. Very attentive and educational guides.

Visiting the dam is essential for anyone visiting Foz. I highly recommend the special Itaipu, where it is possible to see the dam via a panoramic tour and also internally, being able to observe the control panels, the turbines and the employees in full activity. Itaipu has several interesting tours. The biological refuge is very good and worth it for its wealth of details. We took the panoramic tour as the main tour and it was excellent. The construction is colossal and all the stories are very rich. Don't forget to meet the dam workers at the panoramic bus stops and hear good stories.
