It covers the history of the plant's construction, as well as interesting facts about its operation and comparisons with other works. It has an audio guide and tourism monitors for questions and to complement the experience. Trilingual tour: Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Done by bus, it covers the entire external area of the plant, including the Avenue of Forced Conduits (White Tubes) and Topo da Barragem. It also includes two stopping points: Mirante Central and Mirante Vertedouro.
The tour is aimed at all ages.
– Every day, from 08:15 AM to 17:00 PM;
– Departures approximately every 30 minutes;
– Service on a first-come, first-served basis;
*Visiting times and days may be subject to change due to operational issues at the plant.
– The tour is outdoors and our buses are open on the sides at the top, so it is recommended to use a raincoat on rainy days and a coat on cold days;
– We are in a binational security area, so all visitors must pass through the security barrier with an x-ray machine and metal detector portals to check belongings;
– This tour may change its route, depending on the Plant’s needs;
– The Itaipu spillway is a safety structure for the plant, and is only opened when there is excess water in the reservoir. The images of the open spillway are for illustrative purposes only.
– We accept the following forms of payment on our website and at the local box office: credit and debit cards, PIX, and cash (Brazilian Real only).
– The use of drones is prohibited.
